Please join Janney staff, teachers and parents for a three-part series to better understand the three-pronged approach Janney takes to teaching and developing its students.

This important series will help parents appreciate the philosophy and language used with students every day. In turn, this shared understanding can help build a stronger partnership between home and school in raising our Janney students.

While we hope you will attend the entire series, you are welcome to come for any single session.

PART I

Social-Emotional & Relationship Building

January 11, 2024
6:00 pm – 7:30 pm

Janney utilizes what is known as a “Restorative Practices” philosophy to help students build relationships and their own social emotional health. It is a mindset shift away from punitive and toward restorative practices by proactively focusing heavily on building relationships.

PART II

Nurturing the Whole Child

March 6, 2024
6:00 pm – 7:30 pm

Join Janney staff to learn how teachers get to know various aspects of students’ personalities, interests, and abilities, and how parents can understand the data shared with them.

PART III

Instructional – Equity Based Instruction

May 2, 2024
6:00 pm – 7:30 pm

Janney uses what is known as “Equity Based Instruction” to encourage students to explore different perspectives, which can help lead to deeper understanding of themselves and each other. This session provides additional details, including how parents can help support this learning at home.

Childcare and pizza will be provided for each session.

Free childcare is provided by Janney+ staff. Pre-registration is required and a link to register is provided closer to the date of each session. There are limited spaces, so we ask parents to release their space (even if last-minute) if no longer needed.
