Janney After Care (JAC) provides students with a structured and stimulating environment before- and after-school hours.

The morning program’s hours are from 7:30 to 8:30. The afternoon program’s regular hours are from 3:15 to 6:00 p.m., with extended care available until 6:30 p.m. for an additional fee.

The afternoon program offers both routine and choice: students enjoy snack, afternoon meeting, and outdoor or indoor recreation with the same small group of students daily. JAC students can take advantage of the enrichment activities offered by Janney Elementary, complete their homework in a quiet classroom staffed by Janney and JAC employees, and enjoy structured game time within mixed-age small groups. JAC also offers art experiences for all age groups and the opportunity to play team sports in a relaxed environment. By offering choices within structure, JAC allows students to try new activities and broaden horizons while remaining safe and supervised.

What’s unique and wonderful about JAC is that it offers students a chance to interact and to forge relationships with caring adults in a non‑school setting. Many of the younger children love getting to know and making friends with older kids they see every day at school. They also love JAC field trips, holiday parties, and special events – the annual JAC Fashion and Talent Show is always a big hit!
