The PTA raises and disburses funds with only one goal: to support and enhance the educational mission of Janney. For the school year 2012/2013, the PTA has an budget of about $350,000 in income and expenses. The income is raised through the Janney student support fund, Janney fundraising events and initiatives, and corporate matches and other contributions.
How is the PTA budget determined each year?
The PTA executive board works with the principal, the LSAT, and other PTA committees to determine the budget for each year. This group presents the proposed budget to the general PTA membership for the next school year at the May community meeting. The general PTA membership votes to approve the budget in the June community meeting.
What does the PTA pay for?
Here is a list of items that the PTA is planning to fund for the school year 2012-2013. The full budget that was presented at the May 2012 general PTA meeting can be found here. PTA Budget 2012-2013
