*Jamboree starts promptly at 8:35. Please be on time!

*Students who arrive early are allowed to use the equipment and play ball games until 8:30. Please help to remind students after 8:30 that they should be in their lines and all balls and toys are in their hands and staying still. There will be an announcement outside to alert students when to gather with their classes. Students must be monitored by a parent or guardian prior to 8:35.

*Classes will line up in a modified sun formation, with students being the “rays” and the presenters in the center. See attached map for your child’s location. There will be colored dots on the ground and safety patrol members will be holding signs. Each grade is assigned to a color (also noted on the map).

*There are two designated parent/family areas: in the goal crease lines on either side of the field. If parents wish to stay for Jamboree, please wait in these designated areas so that our students can both see and hear. As part of our commitment to respect for the presenters and audience, we thank you for holding conversations during Jamboree.

*Students will enter the building when their class/grade has been called and use the door assigned. Pre-K and K will enter through the Pre-K playground doors. 1st grade and 4th grade will enter through the East doors (the ones closest to the garden). 2nd, 3rd, and 5th will enter through the doors closest to the gym.

*If you need to enter the building after Jamboree is over, please use the front entrance and check in at the security desk. All adults must have a visitor’s badge when entering the building to ensure the safety of our students. The only exception is if your classroom teacher is holding an open house that particular morning, feel free to walk in with the class.

*In case of inclement weather, Jamboree will be held in the gym (except on the first day of school). Safety patrol will help direct students to find their class line inside.  Parents are encouraged to drop off their children and leave in this situation to ease congestion indoors, but you are welcome to stay, especially if your class is presenting.

*Every class will be put on the schedule to present once an advisory. Your child’s classroom teacher will let you know when this happens. Each class presentation will be represented by one or two students from the class.

*The length of time for presentations will be a minute or two. A share will not be anything complex or lengthy, just an update as to what the students are learning or working on.  In essence, Jamboree will be a workshop during which students have an opportunity to present to their community both works-in-progress and finished products.

*Mondays will be Welcome/Announcements from administration. If parents or community members have anything to share (community celebrations can also take place at this time), please pass it along ahead of time and it will be included on this day.

*Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays will be assigned to individual classes and students.

*Fridays will be assigned to grade levels for celebrations. Teachers or paraprofessionals will come up celebrate their entire grade level or individual class for a job well done or particular milestone.

*If the week is shorter than 5 days, the schedule will be adjusted.
